Cindy Lorenz Umm- I would consider my young Border Collie goofy & "needing manners"- meaning he will jump on you with dirty paws or tear up a pillow if let unwatched for too long.

Cindy Lorenz Wendy Lambert Dixon If the owners & breeders of these dogs truly loved them like they say, they would stop breeding them! I like the Rottweiler, but I would rather see them go extinct than be used like this breed. I'm a big advocate of restricted ownership of certain breeds, because I not only care about the safety of the public, but also I am tired of seeing so many abused dogs

Wendy Lambert Dixon Cindy Lorenz, I'm right there with you. Over-breeding is another form of animal abuse, IM(ntbh)O; Dalmatians have been so over- and inbred they are also losing their desirability as pets. (I also love Rotties, have only met 3, sweet everyone, but would not have one as a pet.)

Nancy Perdue That's what I always hope for, is for a Pitbull to go Shitbull on it's owner. If the owner is a normal person than they will realize why these dogs get a bad name. If not they will be a nut in denial. frown emoticon

This part really sends shivers down my spine. Pit owners always say their dog is a cuddly sweet wiggle butt, but would protect their family with its life. Um, no. It will try to KILL, not protect. Too many stories of pits mauling and maiming and killing the "threat:" the mailman, the paperboy, the pool cleaner, the little girl who dared walk onto the porch,the boy who dared knock on the door, the Yorkie walking by their yard, the elderly lady tending her garden, the roommate performing CPR on the owner, and on and on ad nauseum. And the nutters all come out of the woodwork: Pittue was just doing its job! Any dog would maim and kill a child knocking on the door!
